means that around February we begin to adjust our diet and lifestyle to avoid arriving at spring feeling heavy, sluggish, and lethargic.
Late winter/spring is Kapha season. It is when the water and earth elements are predominant in nature.
This is the time of greatest Kapha (water & earth) accumulation. When Kapha is in excess we tend to have diseases connected to the earth and water elements such as colds, the flu, excess mucus, sinus congestion, and edema.
To prevent it from getting too high inside of us, we can apply Ayurveda’s wisdom to our bodies with some movement snacks that will support the balance of Kapha dosha within us.
Because Kapha mainly accumulates in the stomach and respiratory system, our movement munching for this month is an upper-mid back snack.
Keeping this area moving will help release stagnation and invigorate the body and mind to feel light and bright.
